Golcar Band
Rehearsals Monday 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm

Golcar Band is a Fourth Section band with a core of experienced players, many of whom came through the Training Band in earlier years. Like many bands, we are always looking for new players particularly cornets and basses.
Golcar Band seeks to be part of the community in which it sits. Players are drawn from the surrounding town and local villages and the band is involved with local schools and organisations.
We are seeking to grow the Senior Band numbers from our very successful Training Band and the two bands often perform together at joint concerts.
The band has a full programme over the year ranging from the Golcar Lily Day in May through traditional park bandstand jobs on summer afternoons ,to playing on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, and the Longwood Sing in September. The busiest time is Christmas with the band’s own Christmas concert, entertaining the local branch of MENCAP in Huddersfield in what is usually the best concert of the year, busking in with Huddersfield Salvation Army in the town centre of Huddersfield and taking part in the Christmas Celebrations in Haworth.
